Home Checklist for Spring
Spring, real spring, is just around the corner. That means time to check around the house and take care of some things that will improve your property, make you safer, and prepare for the fun of summer. Read More.

Health Benefits of Friendship
Friendships are based on a variety of things. Usually there are some common values, similar viewpoints, or joint hobbies or activities. These relationships have a positive impact on physical, mental, and emotional health. This can be particularly difficult for older adults who have lost their friends through distance or death. If you are interested in the science, here are some things to consider. Read More.

Featuring Cottage Cheese
Cottage cheese is a fresh cheese, like mozzarella, as opposed to one that is aged, like Swiss. It begins with milk that has added enzymes, sometimes called cultures (probiotics), that will change the sugar in milk (lactose) into an acid. This acid then causes the milk to separate into curds (solids) and whey (liquid). Yes, just like Little Miss Muffett. When separated, the solid is a big block (again, like mozzarella) and a machine cuts it into pieces. The cutting releases the whey, which is drained off. Then they add some cream to form the mixture we buy in plastic containers in the dairy aisle. Read More.
