đ Yates Community Center Breaks Ground on Expansion
The Yates Community Center in Penn Yan officially kicked off its long-awaited 35,000-square-foot expansion, adding an indoor walking track, multipurpose courts, STEM youth program space, and community meeting rooms. A grassroots âRaise the Roofâ donor campaign helped bring the decade-long project to life.

âïž Ithaca Airport Adds Third Daily Flight to D.C.
Ithaca Tompkins International Airport will begin offering a third daily direct flight to Washington, D.C. (Dulles) starting this October, funded through a federal grant with support from Cornell University and Ithaca College. The new route is expected to strengthen regional connectivity and business travel.

Lindsay Laine Home has opened The Shoppe at the Lake on Main Street in downtown Canandaigua. The boutique features upscale dĂ©cor, lighting, cabinetry, and custom furnitureâbringing high-end design options to homeowners in the Finger Lakes.

New York State awarded over $52 million in broadband funding, including projects in Geneva and Ithaca. Affordable housing complexes will now receive gigabit-speed internet for as low as $10/month, helping bridge the digital divide for hundreds of families.

Participants Sought for Ferris Hills Car Show
Ferris Hills at West Lake is inviting classic car owners to its annual Car Show! The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 4, at Ferris Hills at West Lake, 1 Ferris Hills in Canandaigua.
This is an informal show with many independent living and assisted living residents who love to see cars. There will be live music and hot dogs on the grill.. To RSVP, call (585) 393-0410.
Canandaigua Lady Cruise to Benefit Thompson Health Guild Program
CANANDAIGUA â The Thompson Health Guildâs Associate Education Fund will benefit from a Friday, Sept. 5 âCruise for a Causeâ on the Canandaigua Lady.
Open to the public, the 90-minute, scenic boat ride will set off from the Ladyâs dock, 205 Lakeshore Drive, at 4:30 p.m. Passengers are asked to arrive by 4 p.m.
Tickets are $35 per person. The boat is handicap accessible with two bathrooms on board. No outside food or beverage is permitted on the boat, which has a full-service bar where snacks and beverages â both alcoholic and non-alcoholic â are sold.
A percentage of the proceeds from both cruise tickets and bar sales will benefit the Guild, a nonprofit fundraising organization helping Thompson Health expand its facilities, purchase needed equipment, and offer helpful programs for patients, senior living residents, staff, and community members. Its Associate Education Fund puts as much as $10,000 annually toward helping Thompson associates attain education and professional certifications. Over the past 10 years, this fund has helped over 50 associates enhance their skills and acquire new training.
