Thompson Announces July 4 Hours
All three of UR Medicine Thompson Health’s urgent care centers – in Canandaigua, Farmington, and Newark – will be open on Friday, July 4, but they will each have limited hours of 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Thompson’s Canandaigua Medical Group Pharmacy and its new Victor Medical Group Pharmacy will be closed on July 4, but the Canandaigua pharmacy will have its regular Saturday hours of 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on July 5.
Both of Thompson’s Lab Draw stations will be closed on July 4, as well. The lab draw station just off the main lobby of Thompson Hospital will be open on Saturday, July 5, from 7 to 11:15 a.m.

Tournament Nets $50K for Birthing Center Expansion
The F.F. Thompson Foundation netted approximately $50,000 with its annual Thompson Health Golf Classic.
Held at the Cobblestone Creek Country Club in Victor on June 2, the event drew 112 golfers.
Proceeds will benefit the expansion of Thompson Hospital’s Birthing Center. The maternity unit currently has 10 labor and delivery rooms and there are times when new mothers and babies must be placed in two overflow hospital rooms adjacent to the unit. Thompson plans to renovate the overflow rooms, adding showers and other amenities found in the existing labor and delivery rooms. Additional storage, a renovated triage desk, a renovated waiting room, and a dedicated medication room are planned as well.
Heather Rickett, director of the F.F. Thompson Foundation, said the golf tournament represented the first major fundraiser for the $3 million project.
“Our medical staff, nurses, and support staff work hard to provide all of our families with the best possible birthing experience, and we want to be able to ensure each one receives the same level of excellence, no matter how busy the Birthing Center may be at the time,” she said. “We are grateful to tournament chairs Coleen Emblidge, Greg Felosky, and Jody Stolt as well as to Presenting Sponsor KeyBank and all other tournament sponsors and participants for getting us closer to our goal.”
The Foundation is now busy planning The Sweet Arrival Soirée on Aug. 28 at Lincoln Hill Farms in Canandaigua. With a candy theme, the event will also benefit the Birthing Center project. For tickets, visit www.ThompsonHealth.com/Gala.

🛡️ Pure Brew 2025 Launches to Protect Seneca Lake
Local brewers in the Seneca Lake watershed—such as Grist Iron, Brewery Ardennes, Lucky Hare, and Wagner—collaborated to create a limited-release “PURE Pils” crafted entirely from regionally sourced ingredients. This initiative supports lake conservation through the Seneca Lake Pure Waters Association, with beer available July 25–August 3 at participating businesses around Seneca Lake. Read more
