Thompson Hosting Information Sessions on Becoming a CNA
UR Medicine Thompson Health is hosting information sessions for community members interested in beginning careers as certified nursing assistants (CNAs).
In partnership with Finger Lakes Community College, Thompson offers a five-week CNA training course. Thompson covers the full tuition, and participants receive payment while taking the class. They are hired into a CNA position at Thompson’s M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center, where they are expected to remain employed – in a full- or part-time position – for at least one year from certification.
The one-hour information sessions will be held in the Constellation Center for Health and Healing at the back of F.F. Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua on the following dates:
Thursday, June 23, from 4 to 5 p.m. (RSVP by June 19)
Thursday, July 7, from 4 to 5 p.m. (RSVP by July 3)

Save the Date: Guild to Hold Chicken Barbecue July 9
Save the date of Saturday, July 9. That’s when the Thompson Health Guild will host its second annual chicken barbecue in the parking lot of Runnings, at the corner of Routes 5 & 20 and County Road 10, beginning at 11 a.m.
Ace Automatics is again supplying the meals this year. They will be $12 per person. Presale tickets are available from members of the guild’s board of directors, and online pre-orders will be possible via the guild’s page on Thompson’s website once the barbecue draws closer.

When Three Brothers Wineries & Estates opened their doors 15 years ago, the Finger Lakes wine region was going through an awkward phase in its evolution.
