Montezuma Winery was created around 25 years ago, but the Finger Lakes producer history goes back a few decades before that. There is always something exciting happening here whether it’s in the cellar, distillery, tasting room, or beyond. As far as the cellar goes, you can bet that Phil Plummer, head winemaker, is creating something fun and different. Their story is rooted in creative innovation from what fruits we use to the style of wine we create and Phil certainly continues to carry that tradition..

Color Yellow

Yellow pigment was widely available so it was used quite often. The Romans associated it with Venus. In the Middle Ages, women of ill repute were required to wear a piece of yellow clothing as identification. A yellow flag was used to indicate plague.
