Stroke Support Group Meets Via Zoom on July 7The regional Stroke Support Group hosted by UR Medicine Thompson Health will meet on Thursday, July 7. The meeting will be held at 1 p.m., via Zoom, and will feature a speaker from the University of Rochester Medical Center.Board-certified as a psychiatric mental health nurse as well as board-certified in ambulatory care, Abby Mathewson will discuss mental health following a stroke, for both the patient and the family.Thompson’s monthly support group is open to stroke survivors as well as their loved ones and caregivers. Guild to Hold Chicken Barbecue July 9 at RunningsThe Thompson Health Guild will host its second annual chicken barbecue in the parking lot of Runnings, at the corner of Routes 5 & 20 and County Road 10, on Saturday, July 9.Beginning at 11 a.m. and continuing until sold out, the event will feature meals prepared by Ace Automatics of Seneca Falls. The cost is $12 per meal. Summer is approaching rapidly and since our grape vines have started their growth this season, we can assess what winter damage took place. This past winter we experienced a few sub-zero episodes, which can always inflict vine and future crop damage. Summer Solstice
The summer solstice is when the Earth is at maximum tilt at the North Pole (about 23.5 degrees) which, in the Northern Hemisphere, means the point where we have the greatest amount of daylight and the least amount of darkness. Summer Pasta Salads for Dinner
