Stroke Support Group to Meet July 11
Thompson Health’s Stroke Support Group will meet, via Zoom, from 1 to 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 11. The scheduled topic is “Lifestyle: Smoking, Exercise, and Obesity,” featuring RN Riley Silco of Strong Memorial Hospital.
This group is open to people who have had a stroke, along with family/caregivers. Patients can email
to be added to the invite list and for more information.
Grief Support Group Meets July 12 at Thompson
Thompson’s Health new monthly Grief Support Group is slated to meet on Friday, July 12, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in the George M. Ewing Jr. Conference Room on the ground floor of the Constellation Center for Health and Healing at Thompson Hospital, 350 Parrish St. in Canandaigua.
This group is co-facilitated by the Rev. Janice Lum, Thompson’s chaplain and manager of Spiritual Care, and Jan DiDuro, bereavement and volunteer coordinator for UR Medicine Home Care. It is for any community member who has experienced a loss through death.

July Celebrations
July is the midway point in the year. In most instances school is out and it seems to be one of the busiest times for travel especially vacations. There are lots of celebrations this month, the most important for us in the United States is our Independence Day on July 4th. Read More.

Theft in Community Gardens
A community garden is when there is a piece of land that a variety of people come into in order to culitvate flowers or edibles. Frequently it is a donated area that would otherwise be unused. In most cases individuals have a specific plot that they are responsible for. They may grow flowers, vegetables, or other (legal) plants. Each person has the duty to tend this small area and they own whatever is grown there. Read more.

The Fourth of July is generally a time of parties, picnics, or just sitting on the patio watching the fireworks.
