FLX’s Very First Winery Restaurant Grows New Roots as FLX Wine Country Becomes Food Destination
ROMULUS — Knapp’s Vineyard Restaurant is now Field & Vine, a name that honors the beautiful vineyard views along Cayuga Lake. It was led for a long time by chef John McNabb, who is now head of hospitality working alongside new Executive Chef Benjamin Bird.
Knapp Winery opened the region’s very first on-site winery restaurant in 1992. Karen and Cole Wilson saw something truly special in Knapp, purchasing the winery in 2021. The Wilsons have honored Knapp’s history while bringing new life to the business, and the latest venture is a refresh of the historic Vineyard Restaurant.

Sunburn Protection
It’s about the middle of summer and no one wants to be THAT person who is so pale they are mistaken for an alien. Sunshine provides a good dose of Vitamin D and it is important to be physically active. At the same time it is important to take precautions against skin cancer, which is the result of excess exposure to ultraviolet (UV) rays. This invisible radiation can be produced from the sun, tanning beds, and sunlamps. They are produced on cloudy and cool days. They are reflected off water, sand, and snow, as well as other surfaces. They are most prevalent during the mid day from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. It is suggested that you check the daily UV rating that is forecasted and if it is 3 or higher, it is time to use some protection. Independence Day Celebrations
There are many ways to celebrate our nation’s freedom. Many gather at parks or home patios for food, games, conversation and general fun with family, friends, co-workers, or community. Remember the excellent state parks in New York that offer a variety of experiences like, waterfalls, gorges, and interesting trails. Enjoy the great outdoors watching the birds and smelling the flowers. Read more.
