Men’s AA Group to Begin Meeting at Thompson
In June, UR Medicine Thompson Health will begin hosting a men’s Alcoholics Anonymous support group for the community.
The group will meet every Monday evening, starting on June 2, from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the ground-floor conference room located in the Constellation Center for Health and Healing at Thompson Hospital, 350 Parrish St.
This will be an open-discussion AA meeting, and all men are welcome. The location is accessible for individuals with disabilities.
The best way to access the Constellation Center is to enter Thompson’s campus via The Thompson Way, a private drive off West Street. The entrance to the Constellation Center is near the flagpole.
Regional Stroke Support Group Meets Via Zoom June 5
The regional Stroke Support Group hosted by UR Medicine Thompson Health will meet at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, via Zoom.

F.F. Thompson Hospital is a New York State Department of Health-designated Stroke Center and has advanced certification from The Joint Commission as an Advanced Primary Stroke Center. The hospital is also a recipient of the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Get With The Guidelines
Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award. The award recognizes the hospital’s commitment to ensuring stroke patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally accepted, research-based guidelines.

Wood Library Funding Proposition on Canandaigua City School District Ballot May 20A proposition for Wood Library funding will appear on the Canandaigua City School District Ballot on Tuesday, May 20, 2025. The library is asking for an increase of $20,000 in community-based funding. If approved, the library property tax rate is projected to be 28 cents per thousand dollars of assessed property valuation. Canandaigua City School District residents who are registered voters are eligible to vote. There are two polling sites, depending on where you live in the school district: at the Canandaigua Elementary School Link Gym, 90 W Gibson St, Canandaigua; OR at the Cheshire Fire Hall, Rte 21 South, Cheshire.
