It’s harvest season for Finger Lakes wineries
sectrumnews
ROCHESTER, N.Y. — It’s harvest season for wineries across the Finger Lakes, working hard to move past the COVID-19 pandemic.
It’s as busy as it is exciting at Three Brothers Wineries and Estates.
“We’re bringing in fruit four to five days a week,” assistant winemaker Eli Bombard said. “It definitely has some long days, late nights and early mornings, but it is exciting because it’s the only time of year we can do this.
“We get one shot at it, and that’s pretty much it."
Bombard says harvest season means long hours and all hands on deck.
“It’s a lot dirtier than you might think,” Bombard said. “I am constantly covered in grapes, and I’m always sticky.”
The industry continues to bounce back from the pandemic.

The ultimate goal is to separate you from your cash or other valuables. Sometimes it is accomplished by simply extracting information that will lead them to the treasur. Read More.

Pumpkin
Pumpkins are a gourd like other melons, as well as cucumbers and zucchini. They are indigenous to North America and were around even before humans started cultivating beans and corn. They are planted by seed sometime between the end of May and the middle of June. They will take three to four months to mature and should be picked when they are bright orange in color (unless hybridized to another hue or a specific variety). Read More.

Pumpkin Entrees
Most people think of using pumpkin in desserts like pie or bread. However, it can also make a great addition to a savory dish. You can use fresh pumpkin or canned, just be sure the weight is the same. If using canned, go for the pumpkin puree rather than the pie filling. Read More.
