Thompson Hosting July 8 Job Fair

UR Medicine Thompson Health is hosting a job fair on Thursday, July 8, at the Constellation Center for Health and Healing, located on the northern side of F.F. Thompson Hospital, 350 Parrish St. in Canandaigua.

Hiring managers will be conducting on-site interviews at the job fair, which runs from 2 to 5 p.m. and will also feature information about benefits. Open positions include jobs in clinical, administrative and general support areas.

Designated for three consecutive years by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation as a “LGBTQ Health Care Equality Leader,” Thompson Health is also a five-time recipient of Wealth of Health Awards from the

Rochester Business Journal

, in recognition of workplace wellness programming. In addition, for three consecutive years, Thompson has received gold-level recognition from the American Heart Association’s Workplace Health Achievement Index for taking significant steps to build a culture of health in the workplace. Earlier this year, the health system’s hospital achieved its fourth consecutive Magnet® designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

Foundation Awards Nearly $20,000 in Community Grants

The F.F. Thompson Foundation is awarding 16 area not-for-profit organizations with Mary Clark Thompson Grants ranging from $300 to $2,500.

The foundation is the philanthropic arm of UR Medicine Thompson Health. Each year, its grants committee reviews applications from not-for-profit organizations offering programs that improve the health and wellness of the community within the Thompson service area. This year, the grants totaled almost $20,000 in funding.

Local philanthropist Mary Clark Thompson founded F.F. Thompson Hospital in 1904, in memory of her husband, Frederick Ferris Thompson. Her spirit of community-minded philanthropy was the motivation behind the creation of the community health grants.

19 YEARS ON MAIN STREET – Pat Rini Rohrer Gallery

An exhibition celebrating the 19 years of the Pat Rini Rohrer Gallery on Main Street and featuring the works of Pat Rini Rohrer.

Please join us on Saturday, July 17 from 1:00 to 6 pm., for the exhibition opening.

Pat Rini Rohrer is a Canandaigua based artist who holds a BA from Norte Dame College and an MS from Nazareth College, both in Art Education. Her studio art studies include the Cleveland Institute of Art, Alfonsas Dargis Studio, Rochester Institute of Technology, Thomas Buechner Studio, and the University of Rochester. She has exhibited paintings, in galleries nationally, participated in group exhibitions, and is a respected juror. The Pat Rini Rohrer Gallery was one of the founders of the Finger Lakes Plein Festival which ran from 2012 – 1019.

The artist is a long-time painter of landscapes, figures, and florals. This exhibit shows the common thread and the evolution of her art work. Age has no limits on the artists’ spirit and passion to create. Through the years, Pat Rohrer has guided many emerging artists as their teacher and painting mentor with her painting knowledge, experience and advice. She is currently teaching at Studio II in Canandaigua.

Refreshments will be served during the afternoon viewing on Saturday, July 17, which is free and open to the public. The exhibition runs through August 31.

The Finger Lakes Wine Alliance, in partnership with the Wine Trails of Canandaigua, Keuka, Seneca and Cayuga Lakes, Finger Lakes Wine Country, and the New York Wine and Grape Foundation, invite you to join in the reboot of FINGER LAKES WINE MONTH this August!

Through specialty tastings and unique experiences at member wineries, virtual tastings and events online, and meetups and happy hours at favorite regional restaurants, the organizations have partnered together to remind the world how great the Finger Lakes wine region and its wines are, and ask the world to celebrate the new and improved Finger Lakes wine region.

Sunday Music Series, continuing on July 11th, featuring Jaimie Lee, solo musician from 1-3pm on our patio. Jaimie Lee has developed an Americana/folk/pop music style. She has a knack for putting her unique twist on cover songs and singing with a passion that will convince you those songs were her own. Her original songs are clever, thought provoking, and sometimes humorous with a hint of sass.
