According to the U.S. Surgeon General, Americans are lonelier than ever -- and the impact of loneliness has great consequences for our health.
We are committed to fostering a welcoming atmosphere at Wood Library. Your gifts to the Annual Fund Drive help us combat loneliness by funding all sorts of programs and activities that get people connecting, learning, and growing together.
One-third of the library's annual budget is supported by fundraising and gifts from people like you. Your annual donation -- or monthly donations -- will create more opportunities for people to connect in meaningful ways.

Internationally Acclaimed Winemaker Kelby James Russell Announces New Winery, Apollo’s Praise, To Launch This Vintage
Follows Purchase of Renowned Lahoma Vineyards this Spring with 'Winemaking Super Couple’ Spouse, Julia Hoyle.
Rock Stream, New York — Kelby James Russell, longtime winemaker of Red Newt Cellars and Empire Estate, has announced the creation of his own winery, Apollo’s Praise. Named in honor of an iconic song he performed with the Harvard Glee Club as an undergraduate, the winery brings full circle his love of music, wine, and the Finger Lakes region he grew up in.
The winery will kick off with the upcoming 2023 vintage and will produce a set of estate wines from Lahoma Vineyards fruit. Rieslings, Chardonnay, Grüner Veltliner, Rosé, Cabernet Franc, and a few surprises are in the works; all in the textural and long-aging style that inspires, and has defined, Russell’s winemaking.
“This project is a dream come true for me,” Russell said. “After 11 fantastic years at Red Newt, it is time for me to write my own story with Julia, from vineyard to bottle.” Read more

Sciatica
The sciatic is a nerve that starts in the lower back, extends through the hip and buttocks, and then down the leg. Each person has one sciatic nerve on each side of the body. Sciatica is considered a symptom, but not a medical problem of its own. It is defined as a pain, weakness, tingling, or even numbness anywhere along the nerve. Read More.
