Thompson to Host October 4 Information Session to Become a CNAUR Medicine Thompson Health is hosting an information session on Tuesday, October 4 for those interested in beginning careers as certified nursing assistants (CNAs).Thompson covers the entire cost of the five-week CNA training course and pays participants while enrolled. Course graduates are guaranteed a CNA position at Thompson’s M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center. Newly hired CNAs are expected to remain employed – in a full- or part-time position – for at least one year from certification.Beginning at 4 p.m., the one-hour information session will be held at the Continuing Care Center, located at 350 Parrish Street in Canandaigua. Those planning on attending must RSVP at [email protected] no later than Sunday, October 2. Registered participants should park in the lot directly in front of M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center. They are asked to arrive early to allow extra time for a temperature check and COVID screening questionnaire. Several Thompson Flu Clinics Coming UpUR Medicine Thompson Health continues holding several public flu clinics in a number of locations over the next several weeks.Administered to those 9 and older at these clinics, the standard 2022-2023 vaccine provides protection against four flu virus strains. There also is a high-dose flu vaccine for those 65 and older. This contains additional antigen designed to create a stronger immune response for the recipient. Community members are asked to please wear masks to the clinics, as Thompson abides by CDC guidelines requiring masks in all locations where healthcare is being delivered.The schedule of remaining clinics is as follows:

The flu shots are free to patients with insurance (patients must present an insurance card at the time of the visit). Apple and Pork Dishes
Apples and pork are great companion foods. The salt of the pork is offset by the sweetness of the apples. Each variety of apple has its own texture and flavor combination of sweet and tart.
